HYPERREAL PRISON INDUSTRIAL + Recidivism's Turnstile

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5De9fSsc1k

Why is it selfish to be numb?
The pain and suffering some endure defies comprehension.  It’s not a thought-process I’d want to get stuck in through too much cogitation, overestimation, or overidentification with prisoners or their guardian-tormentors.  We know what happened at Stanford.  We know bad acting when we see it.  Would it be so different if the roles were reversed?  “Why must I act peacefully to mask the violence in my heart I want so badly to react with?  Where is the power I once held over every other man?”
In hindsight it was obvious.  Rapists and murderers always begin by hiding their guilt in a lie.  Career actors, some might say.  Whose guard keeps an eye all night?

“And there shall be signs in the Sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;” Luke 21:25

I ask Perplexity®, “Is there a society where prisons did not exist and what happened to criminals in those cultures?”

Summary:

Small-scale & Stateless:

·         Homicide by kin or community.

·         Banishment.

·         Social shunning or loss of status.

Premodern Agrarian:

·         Corporal punishment

·         Capital punishment

·         Fines and confiscation

Modern:

·         Exile and outlawry

This means a person is stripped of legal protections – the State spends no more resources on the outlaw.  Even the apparent murder of the outlaw would go uninvestigated.

·         Restrains or marks

Unlike “Premodern Agrarian: Corporal,” the physical mark is a bulky monitoring device or simply a bureaucratic stigma, making it difficult for the criminal to find gainful employment in an open market, where a business-person, when given the choice, would likely hire someone without a criminal record.

·         Remote labor

This involves sending the prisoner to perform undesirable tasks that are necessary, but not typically chosen by the general population without remuneration that would otherwise make the enterprise unprofitable.

I ask, “why prisons?”

·         State-building.

The state building buildings which ultimately announce control of territory.

·         Reformist penology.

“To err is human; to forgive, divine.”  One must ask forgiveness.  Will I be forgiven?  Should I be forgiven?  How is one forgiven?  How is one reformed?  Is reformation possible within the confines of the penal colony (if at all?)?  Sure, we all grow up and then grow old, but how is one reformed?  The idea of reformation requires a subject.  An individual or an institution; who or what is reformed?  It can’t just be that they look different…

it requires empathy; an element of psyche

Heartstrings soar and ivory tinkle for Robert Earl Council aka Kinetik Justice, protagonist of HBO Max’s 2025 documentary “The Alabama Solution.” He had been incarcerated for the 1996 murder of Robert Talmadge Henderson.  This occurred during an incident wherein RTH was attempting to sell an assault rifle.  REC left a party with three of his friends to meet RTH w/r/t sale of Chinese-made SKS rifle.  During the course of the meeting, REC instructed a member of his party to steal the gun from RTH.  When this occurred, the party fled in car.  RTH caught up with thieves and blocked them with his car.  REC proceeded to shoot RTH twice in the head.  In the film, REC claims the murder was a “last resort” and “self-defense.”  One is led to believe his assertion since no information to the contrary is presented.  Reading between the lines, it is conceivable the murder was racially motivated, therefore a hate crime.

Here are the books on REC’s shelf:

Yurugu: An African-Centered Critique of European Cultural Thought and Behavior by Marimba Ani (1994)

“…reveals the inner-workings of global white supremacy.”

Metu Neter by Ra Un Nefer Amen (1990)

Egyptian amalgam religious text central to the Ausar Auset Society: a Pan-African spiritual organization.  REC describes this as, “my spirituality.”

Jailhouse Lawyers: Prisoners Defending Prisoners vs. the USA by Mumia Abu-Jamal (2009)

Wesley Cook aka Mumia was sentenced to death after the 1981 killing of Philadelphia police officer, Daniel Faulkner.  This occurred when his younger brother was engaged in a physical altercation with the officer DF and WC being in the vicinity, decided to intervene.  Mumia’s sentence was reduced to life imprisonment after appeal.  The crime itself was also potentially racially motivated.

This list is only to highlight a thought process viz. Afro-centrism which made to be perceived as a somehow more legitimate form of racial supremacy than those of Council’s captors, obviously white.  What happens when one tells a lie with its intention to be perceived truthful and the liar succeeds?  The liar experiences a form of supremacy.  “I’m smarter than you and I can create reality the way I want despite you or any rule I want to lie out of existence.”  A feeling approaching omnipotence: megalomania.  Metu Neter mind control.

What else was he reading?  Investing 101 – “something to keep my mind occupied,” he shrugs off with a smile, was if it were a silly pipedream.  If you look at the movie poster for “The Alabama Solution,” you’ll notice front and center a smartphone.  The initial thought about the phone’s prominence is validated because this is the way much of the movie is filmed, through smuggled technology.  However, funny thing about smartphones is many people underutilize their full potential.  They can be used for more than games and social media posts.  Beyond the obvious utility as a mass communication device, there are programs such as Cash App® that can be used to send and receive money as well as make financial investments.  That’s on the simplistic side.  Having all day to study the markets on said device and unlimited time to research and day trade, one is able to set up something on the outside.  How does this align with the ideal ethos of ‘reformist penology’?  Is this behavior consistent with someone seeking forgiveness for a heinous crime committed in cold blood?  Obviously REC’s not going to work ‘slave labor’ for a pittance when he can make more on drugs in solitary than the line cook.

Were civilizing forces never meant to penetrate ‘The Heart of Darkness?’  Do I have a mind for memorization?  Is memorization a virtue?  A type of thoughtfulness via recitation.  Is someone who recites a revision seeing clearly?  Do your surroundings relay in interpretation?  Was solitary confinement for no reason whatsoever or do you still disobey?  High in the revolutionary hierarchy, Kinetic Justice proves both grit and insanity.  We live in an age where the idea means less than the ability to speak clearly, formerly a low bar, but with the miracle of video editing, anyone espousing any idea can be made to seem compelling with the right public relations department.  “And maybe Hitler had some good ideas!”  There are ideas with prohibitive taboos on investigation to the extent the mythic outcome has been predetermined.  Censorship: the power to edit reality.  What corrupting influence drives men to the brink of insanity unprovoked?  “I am unable to think for myself, rather my thoughts are under the perpetual influence of the Spirit I call corrupt.”

“Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.” – Adam Smith

At this point I can’t remember exactly how the issues and topics presented in “The Alabama Solution” were brought up other than evidence of apparent generational injustice associated with white supremacy esp. in the South.  I haven’t really stayed up to date on movies in the last ten years or so because of ubiquitous CGI, increase in prices that don’t match value of product, and redundant narratives that are thinly veiled propaganda served by monolithic mega-corporations?  While prior to this shift in the zeitgeist, this could be traced to obvious product-placement, with a main character reaching for a Coke®/Pepsi® product or certain auto manufacturers being featured.  More recently the product (the movie) is less driven by marketing consumer products in a free market and more so aligned with a political agenda.  This ostensibly began with The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, which in short lifted a ban that prohibited Defense spending aimed at domestic audiences.  One meaning of this I could imagine, is that now Hollywood producers are not limited to millions in corporate advertising budgets, but have access to billions in national defense spending - the system that prints money and doesn’t comply with its audits.  Because I’m dubious of historical of systems set up and incorporated by people like Goebbels as well as modern Zionism responsible for the genocide of Palestinians and their affiliates in Hollywood, I disconnect.

How does this relate to “The Alabama Solution”?  I’ve always been a fan of the horror genre: the lighting, make-up, themes, and the occasional moral embedded.  It’s gruesome, grotesque, meant to shock and awe, and if you suspend disbelief, also quite terrifying!  Before her debut as head writer and director of “The Alabama Solution,” Charlotte Kaufman was better known as “Dance-off Zombie #1” in Poltrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead and a slew of other such roles in B-Movie horror directed by her father Lloyd Kaufman.  Charlotte brought up and saturated in this milieu, I imagine, may have developed and evolved her father’s movie magic techniques.  One feature I find unique and compelling about this movie is its parallel to other horror movies in the “found footage” genre championed by “The Blair Witch Project” being what I would call “smuggled footage.”  This provides the real-feeling necessary for the exposé by providing a series of grainy, lurid, and secretive scenes filmed furtively from the inside.  What has put a ‘bug up my ass’ so to speak about this movie is that my friend doesn’t see this as entertainment, but as a source of validity through verisimilitude to champion a debatable position.  Scientific method this is not!  There is scant data, obviously skewed to skewer the deep dark South.  As if other states didn’t have crime problems and incongruities.  Just to say, I’m giving this issue as much respect as I am able to observe without losing my ever-loving mind!

Recidivism’s Turnstile:

If reports are to be believed, the U.S. rate of recidivism is about 62% in 3-years and 71% in 5.
Alabama’s is about 30% in 3 years, about half the U.S. average! (Something’s working!)
This means it is known that 62 or 30 out of 100 will reoffend respectively.

Like letting off a bomb in a community, unnecessary violence.  If sex is as violent as it needs to be for Ted Bundy, the self-perceived/egoistic alpha who’s always done things a certain way and is unreformed in action or behavior will behave or act predictably according to his circumstances and its internal conditions.  More machine than man, the replicant threatens humanity with its separateness characterized by ‘lack of empathy.’  Because of this atypical damage to the amygdala, the replicant cannot feel what most call an internal condition common to human experience.  When one is deficient in whatever chemical cofactor is produced by this part of the brain, the replicant must be made to believe that their actions damage the so-called fabric of society they are hostile toward (an attitude typical of sociopathy) to the extent the replicant is internally motivated by understanding fully (to the bone) action’s consequences at the very least (if they won’t accept the Eucharist).

Now, Timothy Leary was able to discover that administration of LSD and other psychedelics had a positive effect on recidivism rates overall in the 1960’s, meaning it has been known for very many years that this administration of certain therapies (drug and likely others) could greatly reduce duration of the reformatory process (assuming reform over punishment).  Although, the reduced percentage was not zero, it’s worth exploring.  Is there an ‘empathy test?’  Empathogens (MDMA) and entheogens (LSD, psilocybin, etc.) as classes of medicine have the potential to heal what is psychically embedded (like in the lion & mouse from “Aesop’s Fables”), however even these medicines, while powerful, do not appear panacea.  There would have to be administration with follow-up testing to be valid.  While potentially costly, I would believe it’s cheaper than lengthy prison stays.  However, part of the equation is justice for the victim or victim’s families, which I don’t believe ought to be discounted. Until withholding forgiveness is no longer justified, which is what demands arbitration.  Proof of reformation?  Because this is often (calculable) not a one-time thing, there is recidivism, hence people calling for even harsher punishment, hence the death penalty for serial reoffenders who continually betray the public trust and social order.

It seems devious or insidious, but what if the purpose of prisons were not indeed reformation or punishment, but simply a continuation as a means to justify the institution, or the criminal justice system itself corrupted?  What if it’s unspoken yet fundamental purpose were to enslave and exploit labor as cheap as can be? “Well now that sounds like a public relations nightmare!  I suggest you mock-yell ‘conspiracy!’ back in their faces if confronted,” when the label ‘conspiracy theorist’ defined a break in sanity.  Now, at least a larger minority are aware that our food and water on a large scale has been tampered with.  Poisoned some might say.  With our only hope being RFK Jr., head of Health and Human Services, who is vilified by many public relations representatives of the industry cartels.  At the moment, I think most of us just want to the madness to end, even if it’s with limited liability.

Ah, the corporate CEO’s ‘golden parachute.’  Can he/she really know about everything that’s going on along the supply chain?  Isn’t that their job?  “Well, who else authorized the toxic chemical dump just outside the big city that made the land uninhabitable for miles and probably shouldn’t be inhabited for more miles still?”  While death is inevitable (so they say!) acceleration pushes life towards its limit or end, and it is this push that is the criminal act.  A juror at a trial of a man for an act that constitutes ‘assault and battery’ for instance is not easily confused by the defense’s argument if there is ample evidence, clear depictions, and lucid witnesses from the prosecuting attorney.  “And the district attorney’s office is up to its eyeballs in domestic cases!” a D.A.’s paralegal complains, “Who has the time to build a case against the ‘big corporate cartel’ with gang members jamming the turnstile?”   In a market free enough to allow slavery (oxymoron) for-profit prisons thrive by cutting as many deals as they can.  This could include letting them out to reoffend to jam the D.A. to protect cartels?

Why is “The Alabama Solution” propaganda?  It produces the ‘red herring’ of race to distract from the crimes being perpetrated by those of a certain class (who have the means to defend themselves, discussed later).  By granting leniency, knowing recidivism rates, one clogs the courts with repeat offenders.  This not only creates another victim, but overburdens public defenders, who may enter the system with good intentions, presumably.  After years of abuse, many of these well-intentioned attorneys may discover pathways in their profession that would lead to more money (much more) and less abuse (much less).  This decision to abandon certain positions would be well reasoned.  Some are beyond saving, viz. members of a certain class.  “Just the way these crimes are committed; the savagery, the randomness and raw brutality.  Who could stand to live amongst these heathens?”  And having let’s say years of first-hand experience, they be justified, even vindicated.  They had dared to combat structural, race-based inequality in a corrupt system head on and failed.  “But I tried, dammit, and that’s what counts!”

Who has the power to put the system on trial?
Presumably, the President.  What if the President
were the source of corruption itself, himself
a product, auto-generating, replicant.

Consider cronyism:

1.       Zionist

2.       Classist

3.       Racist

The third part obfuscates the other two.  While not fully actualized, in theory, it seems that many students have begun to look less at skin color than character content as MLK Jr. advocated and many more modern scholars have re-envisioned.  However many see ‘illegal immigration’ as primarily racial, which is true on the surface, since those from disparate places tend to look different from one to another.  Thing is, it’s not so much about the immigrant’s national or racial background as much (and not even about legal status half the time) as it is about the person’s intention.  Most level-headed people see little problem with a person who arrives who seeks to assimilate.  People have problems with disassimilation, that is, seeking to alter the very ‘fabric’ that people find ‘charming’ about a certain place.  These people tend to work harder for less money, which is fair trade in a free market, and only becomes problematic when native-born people who wish to remain in their position are displaced. However these people also tend to work in industries that not only require low-bar skill-sets, but are positions that are in short supply and high demand.  Typical in industries like farming or fast food for example.  On the surface this is no problem for anyone, besides perhaps a minority of bigots or hard-liners.  The problem most (rational) people have is that some of these people commit violent crimes or welfare fraud (this seems to be a moving bar from state to state).  This seems obvious: if you let in a million migrant random sample, a known percentage, let’s say one percent, will be psychopathic, regardless of race.  I’ll leave it here for now.

The second part is squeezed [middle class] for its labor. Rewarded enough to maintain its integrity. Useful to the extent its demands are easily met.  There is a baked-in moral code/identity that associates hard-work with good grace.  This is their primary identity.  They also have first-hand experience with the truth that hard work does indeed produce and promote good grace.  Replicants upset this dynamic.  They can perform the labor of manifold men and will learn faster with more precision.  Replicants don’t require religion, they just do, even on Sundays, the lord’s work without rest or failure to present, in theory.  Unfortunately it becomes increasingly necessary to convince the humans to believe they must serve the machine before the android robot replicant [ARR] becomes able to fully service itself.

So this is where the Zionists enter to promote a utopian vision so convincing, the average human believes they are not only replaceable, but they should actively seek their own retirement.  (Why work when you can be served?!)  Unfortunately the Zionist vision is inherently Jewish, which most understand as primarily hereditary. “It’s not like you can just join the club if you want. Otherwise everyone would do it!  Best you can hope for a place in the pyramid-scheme as far as you can.  Unfortunately it’s too much of a hassle for many to metaphorically drag themselves to such a position with competition and with the beatings and the heat, many are smart to give up on the whole endeavor. All you earn is a more public burial.  Not to mention they’re all kinds of sick freaks up there near the top.  People you wouldn’t want to know.  Better off just trying to blend in.”  A utopian vision is also more convincing as worthy of achievement when compared with disutopia/dystopia.
