Trump the Tropist: Thucydides Reimagined [short]

Seizing the reigns at a point in history, the leader of the militarily strengthened empire, son of fortune, believes in direction (tropism) above all.  Did the so-called gods formulate history as precedent? Seeing how it (history) repeats itself, it precedes because it is already known as a testimony is to a witness…a witness who experiences the tumult he created in his warpath.

“What is he so mad about?” A Melian wonders.

“This is not about sanity.  It’s about maintaining coherence,” Trump is as impressively old as Alexander was young – in extremes of general age and raucous behavior.  “It’s all about managing perception: who we are as a strong and powerful nation of free-states.  This is what our global subjects fear and respect,” the author of The Art of the Deal was taught.  He treats “The Melian Dialogue,” he learned in military school as gospel.  And to a tropic materialist, it makes perfect sense.  It looks good on paper anyway.

Trump however is not in the heated heart of battle like Alexander was.  He sort of sits on the wings.  They didn’t have the same variety of airstrikes.  Alexander actually jumped, spun, and thrust with his Mycenaean spear.  Trump just bombs.  It the pen is mightier than the sword, how mighty is the Tweet?  Morally degraded certainly.  How was Alexander’s philosophy of war different?  They both owed, as the heads of their respective nation-states, vast sums from military spending that they recouped by exercising the military itself. [We know their officers were both gay, but were they both fat?]  To not only perpetrate, but perpetuate the bloody ruse: that they sit at the apex of cause and effect, because they know how to make women scream!  [Macron may never get this pleasure exactly.]  And they will scream, because I assume that’s the autonomic response when your skin’s burning, assuming she’s not also deprived of oxygen.  Were there cigarettes in Ancient Greece?  Raping makes up for the business end of pillaging.  You’ve got to find some pleasure in your work.

As long as you dress up like you ‘mean business,’ it puts one question to rest, but what exactly is the nature of said business?  What are you doing it for?  Does your ‘love of country’ mean you fucked everyone here?  Are people born immoral?  ‘The innocence of babes’ is noted even if the babe lacks conceptual comprehension; even if it can’t comprehend immorality or innocence.

Why try so hard?  Because he wants something he doesn’t already have?  Unity with the natural world is for losers, not property developers.  Because you weren’t able to defend it, it’s mine.  Have you considered the improvements I’ve made?!  Have you considered art, architecture, and infrastructure?!  Have you considered the newterms of our loanagreement!?” goes the economic hitman.
